Marshalls End Rangel's Streak
Friday, September 1st , 2051
The Olympia Marshalls got more than the 8-6 victory at The Corral today -- they also put an end to the 22-game hitting streak of Chapel Hill Sharks first baseman Tony Rangel by holding him without a hit in 3 at-bats.

After the game, Rangel seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak.

"I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today."

Currently Rangel is batting .357 with 82 hits and 19 home runs. He has knocked in 41 runs and scored 41 times.
