Carl Sexton Bashes Three over the Wall Saturday, July 18th , 2054 Carl Sexton brutalized the Lanchaster Farmstormers pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 13-7 Olympia victory at Little Phoenix Park. The Olympia Marshalls center fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 4-for-4 with 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored. "Too much Carl Sexton today," Farmstormers manager Jerry Harris said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Carl Sexton hit a solo-shot off Cole Merritt in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Reynaldo García in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Augusto Vega in the 9th. This season, Sexton is hitting .318 with 20 home runs. |
