August's ITL Top Pitcher is Bats Flowers Tuesday, September 1st , 2054 The pick for the International League's best pitcher in August is relief specialist, Randolph Flowers. The Louisville pitcher compiled a great month to take home the award. "I just go out there and try and get the job done," Flowers told the press. "Things worked out real well last month and I appreciate the recognition." The 22-year-old reliever threw 12 innings in 9 relief appearances as he piled up 5 saves, 4 strikeouts, and notched a 4-0 record and 0.75 ERA for the month. In 43 relief appearances in 2054, Flowers has nailed down the victory 23 times for his club. In 54 innings he has fanned 29 batters and walked 24. His won-lost record is 7-3 with a 3.33 ERA. |
