PCL Outstanding Pitcher Award Announced

Poise, confidence, and good stuff -- a great combination that brought Tekle-Giorgis Mbingu the Pacific Coast League Outstanding Pitcher Award this year. This Minneapolis mound star excelled with an impressive 12-5 mark.

In 29 starts, Mbingu tossed 172.1 innings, fashioning an impressive 3.81 ERA. He held opposing hitters to a .269 average, struck out 159 and walked 81.

He received 23 first place votes out of a possible 28. Juan Ditella of the Vancouver Vipers finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Jonathan Hewitt of the Oklahoma City 89ers finished third.
