Díaz Selected PCL's Top Player Saturday, October 7th , 2051
The manager of the Minneapolis Millers said he thinks Carlos Díaz is only going to get better as he gets older.
He may only be 23, but it will be hard to top the first baseman's 2051 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Pacific Coast League Outstanding Hitter Award.
His winning campaign featured a .336 batting average and a .411 on-base percentage this year. In 134 games he piled up 175 hits, 32 doubles, 2 triples, 42 home runs, 106 RBIs and 106 runs scored.
He received 14 first place votes out of a possible 28. Harry Gorman of the Spokane Trappers finished second in voting with 12 first place votes, while Fred Watson of the Knoxville Johnnys finished third with 1 first place vote.
