Benson Stretches Hit String to 35 Wednesday, August 11th , 2055 Josh Benson of the Cornwall Royals tagged 1 hit in today's 4-2 loss to the Olympia Marshalls at King George Park to run his hitting streak to 35 straight games. "I realize it's unlikely to have a 35-game streak and not have a couple losses mixed in," he said later. "But it still takes the fun out of it." Josh Benson singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. This year, Benson has batted at a .363 pace with 167 hits, 44 home runs, 110 RBIs and scored 95 times. |
