Albuquerque Stops Hoover Hit Streak Friday, May 1st , 2054 The Albuquerque Isotopes did something to Bob Hoover no team had done for the last 31 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Hammertime, who came away with the 8-7 victory at TooLegit. "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 22-year-old second baseman said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted." Thus far this year, Hoover has hit .383 with 3 home runs and 17 RBIs. |
