Parker Socks it to Savannah 3 Times Saturday, May 7th, 2039 Minnesota Death Stars first baseman Leroy Parker sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Savannah Hogs, Parker told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Parker pushed the Death Stars past the Hogs, 13-10. To go along with the homers, he collected 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Parker told reporters after the game. Leroy Parker hit a solo-shot off Garry Harper in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Garry Harper in the 3rd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a sac fly in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Jeff Andrews in the 7th. So far this season, Parker has recorded a .314 batting average with 32 hits, 11 home runs, 25 RBIs, 31 runs scored and a .455 OBP. |
