3-HR Binge for Jenkins Against Jupiter Friday, May 19th , 2051 Today was a special one for Kevin Jenkins of the Fishkill Patriots as he slammed three home runs in the 9-4 win over the Jupiter Hammerheads. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Fishkill right fielder collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 4, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Patriots Memorial Park. Kevin Jenkins hit a two-run home run off Howard Duque in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Howard Duque in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Thomas Hager in the 7th. Jenkins is hitting .327 so far this season with 56 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has 51 hits including 28 home runs, 15 walks and .387 OBP. |
