Kovach Rips Cincinnati for 5 Hits Friday, May 19th , 2051 It seemed that Eau Claire right fielder Don Kovach could do no wrong as the Esquires KO'd the Pride, 12-6 today. Kovach rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Pride hurlers were throwing. "I think the Esquires were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Cincinnati fan after the game. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Kovach in the postgame press interview. Don Kovach singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. This year Kovach is hitting .306 with 6 home runs and 20 RBIs to his credit.
