Cain Rips 3 Homers Against Hornets Wednesday, May 24th , 2051 Today was a special one for Dan Cain of the Del Mar Racers as he slammed three home runs in the 11-2 win over the Bryant Hornets. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Del Mar first baseman collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 4, and scored 4 runs in the contest at Berry Field. Dan Cain flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Will Clark in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jonah Cline in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jonah Cline in the 8th. So far this season, Cain has recorded a .293 batting average with 53 hits, 27 home runs, 49 RBIs, 45 runs scored and a .340 OBP. |
