González Rips 3 Homers Against Meatheads Friday, June 2nd , 2051 Martín González brutalized the Manhatten Meatheads pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 9-5 victory at Manhattan Metro Field. The Asheville Hippies left fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-4 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Too much Martín González today," Meatheads manager Troy Beauregard said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Martín González hit a solo-shot off Heath Norman in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Ryan Robinson in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Rob Hurst in the 9th. Thus far this year González is batting .307 with 16 home runs, 45 RBIs and 36 runs scored. |
