Ryan Owens Bashes Three over the Wall Sunday, June 4th , 2051 Erie Jaxx second baseman Ryan Owens sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Savannah Hogs, Owens told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Owens pushed the Jaxx past the Hogs, 11-7. To go along with the homers, he collected 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Owens told reporters after the game. Ryan Owens hit a three-run home run off Paco Santiago in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Ánibal Vargas in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Roberto Santos in the 8th. Presently Owens is hitting .330 with 18 home runs and 49 RBIs. He has played in 54 games and scored 38 times. |
