Seattle Loses Bob Woodard, Will Miss Season
Tuesday, June 3rd , 2053
The doctors have spoken and Bob Woodard of the Seattle Rainiers didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Woodard sustained his season-ending injury during the Del Mar Racers game yesterday at Berry Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Seattle medical staff reported Woodard had a torn rotator cuff and would be absent from the lineup for at least 12 months.
This season, Woodard has accumulated no saves, registered a 5.27 ERA and struck out 9 in 13.2 innings. He also has a 0-0 record in 11 relief appearances.
