McGinnity Smacks 4 Homers Against Bryant

John McGinnity victimized Bryant Hornets hurlers, smashing 4 home runs in a herculean effort that will go down in the National League record books.
In an epic hitting spree at Sick's Stadium, the Tacoma first baseman went downtown again and again, leading the Rainiers to a win, 13-10. He went 4-for-5, drove in 8 runs and scored 5 times in the historic game.
"The first ones just happened," he said later, discussing the game. "However, that last time, I was swinging for the fences -- and WHAM -- I nailed it."
John McGinnity walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Paul Ball in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Cipriano Olivares in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off George Stone in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off VĂctor Inocentes in the 9th.
So far this year, McGinnity has hit .351 with 26 home runs, 49 RBIs and 49 runs scored.
