Season May Be Over for Cougars Cooper
Sunday, June 7th , 2054
Jasper third baseman Jim Cooper could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament. He exited yesterday's Surrey game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Cooper would be out 9 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

This year, Cooper is hitting .293 with 7 home runs and 22 RBIs in 49 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .391 with 24 walks and 36 runs scored.
