Rider Wins NL Player of the Week Monday, June 15th , 2054 The hottest bat of the week belonged to Jasper right fielder Desmond Rider. He went on a rampage last week against NL hurlers and rapped out 10 hits in 19 at-bats for a .526 average while hitting 5 home runs, driving in 9 runs and scoring 8 runs -- numbers quite worthy of the National League Player of the Week trophy. Rider was honored today at a press conference. Rider is hitting .363 so far this season with 61 RBIs and 55 runs scored. He has 82 hits including 26 home runs, 39 walks and .461 OBP. |
