Carter Scorches Spikes for 3 HR Saturday, July 15th , 2051 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Jaxx-Spikes game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Erie catcher Bill Carter thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Erie to a 8-3 win over State College. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Carter said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Carter was 3-for-4 on the day with 4 runs batted in. Bill Carter hit a two-run home run off José González in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off José González in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Roberto Esparza in the 7th. So far in 2051 Carter is batting .302 with 26 home runs, 53 RBIs and 53 runs scored. He has 77 hits in 255 at-bats and a .399 OBP. |
