3 Home Runs for Hernández Monday, July 17th , 2051 The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Aurelio Hernández did today at Filibertos Field, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 11-1. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Hernández said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Chula Vista Tacos starting pitcher blistered the Jasper Cougars for 3 hits, batted in 5 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Jasper manager Ed Massey said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Aurelio Hernández hit a two-run home run off Kyung-chor Yi in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Kyung-chor Yi in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Brian Harkey in the 6th and walked in the 8th. Thus far this season, Hernández has tossed 26 innings in 5 starts, fanned 16 batters, walked 6 and put up a 1.73 ERA with 2 wins and no losses. |
