Jones Sizzles -- Smokes Elitists for 5 Hits
Sunday, June 13th , 2055
It was a sensational day at the plate for Wayne Jones as he led the charge to a nifty 14-5 win over the Elitists. The Minnesota center fielder was pure misery for the Evanston pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Jones put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Raúl Fernández, manager for the Elitists, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Wayne Jones singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, walked in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Nathan Rose in the 8th.
Jones on the season is hitting .259 with 9 home runs. His stats include 43 RBIs and 46 runs scored.
