Cruz on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Seattle Thursday, August 3rd , 2051 No matter what the Seattle Rainiers threw at him today, Vicente Cruz hit it. He easily handled Rainiers pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Hornets to a 18-5 triumph at Sick's Stadium. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Cruz's quip, Rainiers skipper Kel Pierce said he "would take him up on that next time." Vicente Cruz was hit by a pitch in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run double in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
