Zorlu Crashes 3 HR Against Nashua Sunday, August 6th , 2051 Necdet Zorlu of the Hooks went on a hitting spree at Redleg Field today and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a 13-10 loss to the Nashua Redlegs. "I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," Zorlu said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too." The Corpus Christi right fielder did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scoring 4 runs. Necdet Zorlu hit a solo-shot off Sergio Encarnación in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Blake Ayers in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Chris Raymond in the 9th. Zorlu is hitting .299 this year with 37 home runs and 70 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .371, 33 walks and scored 63 times. |
