5-Hit Blitz by Chisago Lakes 's Benson Wednesday, July 16th , 2053 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for John Benson -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Gentry Field and paced the 7-5 Lakers win over the Surrey Sinners. After his dynamite batting performance, the Chisago Lakes catcher told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. John Benson hit a two-run home run off Felipe Ávila in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 10th and hit a two-run home run off Víctor Estrada in the 11th.
