News Mathematically Out of Playoffs Friday, August 11th , 2051 After a tough year, the Newport News have been the butt of jokes around many water coolers in the Newport area. There will be some new fodder for jaded fans to discuss now -- the club was officially eliminated from playoff contention today. The News have made the playoffs 13 times in their 45 years as a 24 & Under's franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 5th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2046. In the last 10 seasons, the News have missed the playoffs 6 times. |
