González Strokes 3 HR Against Chisago Lakes Tuesday, August 15th , 2051 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Bob González can celebrate. The Asheville Hippies right fielder powered three into the stands at Goodyear Field today against the Chisago Lakes Lakers. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," González told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 4-for-5 as the Hippies toppled Chisago Lakes by a score of 12-2, knocking in 6 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Asheville manager Dennis Montés said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Bob González hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Curt Young in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Steve Edwards in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Steve Edwards in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. González is hitting at a .291 mark this season. His stats show 45 home runs, 101 RBIs and 95 runs scored. He has played 114 games for the Hippies. |
