Ramsey Cracks 3 HRs for Del Mar
Tuesday, June 6th , 2056
Del Mar Racers first baseman Terry Ramsey put on a dazzling display of power at Sick's Stadium against the Tacoma Rainiers. In the 11-3 Racers victory, Ramsey penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Tacoma manager Fletcher White said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 20-year-old had 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Ramsey said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Terry Ramsey singled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Leslie Foster in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Jorge Rodríguez in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Raúl Cuenca in the 8th.
This season in 60 games, Ramsey has hit at a .286 clip with 68 hits, 28 home runs, 69 RBIs and 48 runs scored.
