Tovar Gone for Season in Asheville
Tuesday, July 28th , 2054
Doctors in Asheville said José Tovar might not play anymore this year. The Hippies reliever suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament during a game against the Calgary Cowboys and will be out for at least 13 months. Club officials told BNN they do not expect him to return to the team this season.
This year, Tovar has no relief appearances with no saves, 1-11 season record and a 7.18 ERA. He has hurled 89 innings, given up 108 hits, struck out 42 and walked 55. Opposing clubs have batted .304 against the Asheville reliever.
