Big 3-HR Day for Moore
Sunday, August 2nd , 2054
Manhatten Meatheads third baseman Marty Moore sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.
Prior to the start of today's contest with the Calgary Cowboys, Moore told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.
"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Moore pushed the Meatheads past the Cowboys, 12-1. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Moore told reporters after the game.
Marty Moore hit a three-run home run off Luis Manicom in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Luis Manicom in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Carlos Flores in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.
In the current season, Moore has put up a .450 batting average with 9 hits, 6 home runs, 13 RBI and scored 7 runs.
