Sargent Whacks 3 Out of the Park for Erie Sunday, August 2nd , 2054 Erie Jaxx right fielder Terry Sargent put on a dazzling display of power at Jerry Uht Park against the Bethany Beach Beastmode. In the 23-3 Jaxx victory, Sargent penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Bethany Beach manager Eric Hammond said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 22-year-old had 3 hits in 6 at-bats, 9 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Sargent said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Terry Sargent flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off José Guzmán in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Bob Ballard in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a sac fly in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Alberto Ferrer in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. In 100 games this season, Sargent has batted at a .336 pace with 132 hits and 51 home runs. |
