Matt Davis Strokes 3 Home Runs
Sunday, September 3rd , 2051
Chula Vista Tacos center fielder Matt Davis put on a dazzling display of power today at Filibertos Field against the Manhatten Meatheads. In the 8-0 Tacos victory Davis penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.

"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Manhatten manager Troy Beauregard said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."

Along with his three home runs, the 22-year-old had 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Davis said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."

Matt Davis grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Harvey McDougall in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Harvey McDougall in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Joe Moore in the 8th.

During the current season Davis is batting at a .322 clip with 14 home runs and 31 RBIs. He has played in 29 games and scored 24 times.
