Matt Green of the Racers humbled hitters all season long and today celebrated as he hauled in the National League Pitcher of the Year trophy, the coveted Outstanding Pitcher Award.

The Del Mar hurler held opposing hitters to a .192 batting average while putting up a 14-3 record and a 3.64 earned run average. He started 27 games, pitched 180.1 innings and struck out 274.

He received 28 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jesús Castillo of the Chisago Lakes Lakers finished second in voting, while Adrián Cruz of the Del Mar Racers finished third.
