Hennessey Smacks 5 Hits for Hawkeyes Thursday, April 15th , 2055 It was a downpour of hits for Matt Hennessey at Jaspers Ballpark. The Iowa Hawkeyes first baseman tore into Providence for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace the Hawkeyes to a rain-delayed 13-4 victory. Providence manager Javier Escobedo bemoaned his pitching, speculating his club got flustered by Hennessey's big day. "He was beating us and we stopped locating well," he said. "That makes you get behind in the count and you can't do that when a guy is hot like Hennessey was today. Not to take anything away from him, but bad location was the story of the ballgame." Matt Hennessey hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Joe Carter in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
