Bell Tags Bruins for 5 Hits
Friday, April 16th , 2055
Bob Bell put on a hitting clinic as the Alabama Crimson Tide dumped the UCLA Bruins, 18-10, at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
The Alabama third baseman made UCLA defenders earn their pay, lashing UCLA pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Bell said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Bob Bell grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Looking at his stats this year, Bell has compiled a .412 batting average, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 18 runs. He has played in 19 games and scored 22 runs.
