5 Hits for Wolfpack Johnson Monday, May 8th , 2051 After a 5-hit effort to lead North Carolina State's 9-4 victory over the Arizona Wildcats, third baseman Arthur Johnson told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the College Baseball-level is really something special." The 19-year-old player earned his accolades today at Jerry Kindall Field at Frank Sancet Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-7 game against the Wildcats. "His swing is getting there," said Wolfpack skipper Cristo García, who spoke glowingly of Johnson after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Arthur did that to perfection today." Arthur Johnson grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Juan Guerrero in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Juan Guerrero in the 5th, singled in the 7th, struck out in the 9th, singled in the 11th and singled in the 13th.
