Lawrence Gets 5 Hits
Tuesday, May 6th , 2053
5 times is the charm -- at least for Nate Lawrence.
The Virginia Cavaliers left fielder tore up the Pittsburgh Panthers to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Davenport Field. The offensive onslaught from Lawrence powered the 13-4 Cavaliers win.
"Lawrence was a tough out," Pittsburgh manager Frederick Kern said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
Nate Lawrence doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This year, Lawrence is hitting .360, produced 9 RBIs and 3 home runs, scored 15 times and gotten on base at a .434 rate.
