Ordóñez Raps West Virginia for 5 Hits
Wednesday, April 21st , 2055
Arizona State center fielder Félix Ordóñez had a big day at Hawley Field against the West Virginia Mountaineers. The 18-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 16-5 Sun Devils triumph over West Virginia.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Ordóñez said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Félix Ordóñez singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Myles Rowe in the 4th and hit a solo-shot off Wilber Glenn in the 6th.
This year, Ordóñez is batting .314 with 4 home runs and 18 RBIs.
