Gregory Boosts Hit Streak to 32 Games Sunday, May 14th , 2051 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Bob Gregory did it again, bashing 2 hits in the contest at L. Dale Mitchell Baseball Park today. For the last 32 games in a row, the 19-year-old left fielder has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Xavier Musketeers beat the Oklahoma Sooners 8-4 today. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Gregory told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Xavier clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Bob Gregory hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. A look at his season totals shows Gregory with 7 home runs, .404 BA, .449 OBP, 37 RBIs and 25 runs scored. |
