Blue Devils End Pickle's Streak Monday, May 15th , 2051 The Virginia Tech Hokies lost to the Duke Blue Devils today by the score of 14-13 at English Field, but the bigger story was the end of a hit streak. Virginia Tech center fielder Emery Pickle had been working on a 24-game hitting streak, but went 0-for-4 against the Blue Devils to bring the hot stretch to an end. "I couldn't do my job and we lost the game," he said in postgame remarks. "It just goes to show how important I am to this team, and how critical it is that I play to the best of my abilities."
