No Late-Season Magic Coming: Notre Dame Out of Playoffs Tuesday, May 16th , 2051 Notre Dame Fighting Irish closer Alfonso Mendoza said it is a "bitter disappointment" for he and his teammates to miss the playoffs. The remarks came hours after the club was mathematically eliminated from 2051 postseason contention. Notre Dame last appeared in the postseason in 2049. This is their 2nd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 38 times in their 45-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Fighting Irish have made the playoffs 2 times. |
