Wildcats Halt Vandeusen's Hit Streak Tuesday, May 16th , 2051 The 23-game hitting streak is over. Louisville Cardinals first baseman Brian Vandeusen failed to get a hit today against the Kentucky Wildcats and had his consecutive-game hitting streak broken. The 19-year-old went 0-for-4 in his club's 3-1 victory over the Wildcats at Cliff Hagan Stadium. "I think I only made it to 23 games because I got lucky once or twice," he said. "So I guess I can't complain too much that I got unlucky and broke the streak." So far on the season Vandeusen is hitting .418 with 3 home runs, 26 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 79 hits and played in 46 games. |
