Hoosiers Blank South Florida, Meyer Winner Wednesday, May 17th , 2051 Darrel Meyer led the Indiana Hoosiers to a 9-0 shutout victory over the South Florida Bulls at Sembower Field today. "My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Meyer recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location." Meyer yielded 5 hits and had 10 strikeouts and 5 walks in the standout performance. "I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," South Florida manager Daniel MartÃnez said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching." Up to now Meyer has recorded a record of 5-1. In 10 starts he has fanned 83 batters in 78.1 innings with a 2.64 ERA.
