Wallace Rips 3 HR Tuesday, April 27th , 2055 Sometimes it just isn't enough. Andrew Wallace had an outstanding day at Jaspers Ballpark for the Providence Friars, ripping three home runs. Nonetheless, the Friars fell to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 14-6. Wallace had a feast at the plate, pounding everything thrown his way. The 19-year-old third baseman banged out 4 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 3 times and batted in 5 runs. Despite his sensational performance, the Friars were not able to hold off the Yellow Jackets. "Baseball is a funny game," Wallace said in the post-game interview, "You can't dwell on the reasons for the loss. I'm sure there will be days when I go 0-for-4 and we win. These things tend to even out." Andrew Wallace hit a solo-shot off Johnny Anderson in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Johnny Anderson in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Fernando Casilda in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. For the year, Wallace is hitting .395 with 14 home runs. His stats include 27 RBI and 27 runs scored. |
