Earl Reid Hurt, Out for Year Saturday, May 20th , 2051 Earl Reid of the Spartans just might have to call it quits for the season. The 19-year-old Michigan State starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Virginia Cavaliers recently at John H Kobs Field. Reid suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch. The Spartans medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 11 months. Currently Reid has a 3-4 won-lost record in 10 starts with a 4.18 ERA. He also has 42 strikeouts in 51.2 innings. |
