Garner Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Saturday, May 20th , 2051 No matter what the Kansas State Wildcats threw at him today, Peter Garner hit it. He easily handled Wildcats pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Buffaloes to a 27-2 triumph at Buffaloes Ballpark. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Garner's quip, Wildcats skipper Bill Becker said he "would take him up on that next time." Peter Garner doubled in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 7th.
