Musketeers Advance to Elite 8 Saturday, May 27th , 2051 The Xavier Musketeers appear poised to make a serious run at the National Championship after a convincing sweep over the Purdue Boilermakers in the Sweet Sixteen. It's now on to the Elite 8 for Xavier, who won the final game 10-4 and took the series 2-0. "Everyone's doing their part and things are falling into place," said Xavier first baseman Carl Hall, who was named series MVP. "It feels like a special year." For the series, Hall hit .500 with a .455 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs.
