Indiana Punchless in 19-0 Loss to Commodores
Sunday, May 9th , 2055
All went well for Elijah Keller of the Vanderbilt Commodores as he pitched his team to a shutout victory, 19-0, over the Indiana Hoosiers, limiting them to 1 hit. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Keller on the day.
"Elijah's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Commodores manager Derrek Lane. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Vanderbilt right-hander rang up 11 and surrendered 1 walk.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Hoosiers manager Tynan Foster. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
To date this season, Keller sports a 7-0 mark with a 1.41 ERA in 9 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .195 batting average and has 74 strikeouts in 63.2 innings.
