Arizona State Sweeps Vanderbilt Friday, June 9th , 2051 It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Arizona State Sun Devils, that meant the College Baseball National Championship trophy. The Sun Devils took a 5-4 victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores at Hawkins Field, winning their 1st championship after taking the series 2-0. "We've got grit," said Sun Devils left fielder Josh Heitman, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to."
