Russell Hits in 20 Consecutive Games Saturday, May 15th , 2055 William Russell continued his streak at English Field, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Washington State center fielder was 3-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Cougars were not as fortunate, losing, 7-6, to the Virginia Tech Hokies. "Russell was hitting everything we threw at him," said Virginia Tech manager Tony O'Bryan. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame and we came away with a win." William Russell walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. Russell is hitting .358 in 2055 with 26 RBIs and 9 home runs. |
