Russell Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 22 Wednesday, May 19th , 2055 The Creighton Blue Jays did something to William Russell no team had done for the last 22 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Cougars, who came away with the 12-1 victory at Bass Ballpark. "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 18-year-old center fielder said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted." Currently Russell is batting .358 with 10 home runs, 32 RBIs and 51 runs scored. |
