Jackson Tags 3 HR Against Cavaliers Friday, May 29th , 2054 It was a good day for the Mississippi Rebels and an exceptional one for Steve Jackson. The 19-year-old left fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Rebels beat the Virginia Cavaliers, 10-7, at Swayze Field. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Jackson said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 4 runs and smacked 3 hits in 3 at-bats. Steve Jackson walked in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Alonso Mercado in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Alonso Mercado in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Brian Pearson in the 8th. So far this year, Jackson is batting .306 with 11 home runs, 37 RBIs and 40 runs scored. |
